4 Scotch Plains Locals Charged With Warrants, Obstruction, Drugs

A car parked on Homestead Terrace was also burglarized recently, police said.

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Four Scotch Plains locals were arrested on charges including outstanding warrant, obstruction and drug possession.

On Nov. 6: Eric Nelson, 37, of Scotch Plains was arrested on an active warrant out of Plainfield during a suspicious person investigation conducted by Patrolman Rolando Rodriguez. Nelson was transported to headquarters and processed.

On Nov. 7: Saiyanna Womak, 18, of Scotch Plains was arrested for obstruction of justice during a disturbance call at her home by Patrolman Devon Turner and Patrolman Dominick Luciano. Womak was transported to headquarters and processed.

On Nov. 8: Elizabeth A. Braxton, 18, of Scotch Plains was arrested for possession of marijuana,possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance. Also arrested was Mekayla B. White, 18, of Scotch Plains charged with being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance. Both arrests were the result of a suspicious motor vehicle investigation conducted by Patrolman Mike Baltazar. They were transported to headquarters and processed.

On Nov. 5: A resident on Channing Avenue reported a fraud. Someone opened cellular accounts in the victim’s name. This remains under investigation.

On Nov. 6: A resident on Homestead Terrace reported their vehicle burglarized during the overnight hours. This remains under investigation.

On Nov. 7: A resident on Shackamaxon Drive reported fraudulent activity on several credit and cellular accounts. This remains under investigation.

On Nov. 7: Officers responded to a home in the 1600 block of King St. on a reported smoke condition. Upon arrival they found a detached garage engulfed in flames. The Scotch Plains and Fanwood fire departments responded and were able to extinguish the fire. No injuries reported.

On Nov. 7: Rashel Pilataxi, 20, of Carlstadt was arrested for possession of marijuana during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Mike Baltazar. Pilataxi was transported to headquarters and processed.

On Nov. 8: Mauricio M. Mastache, 53, of Rahway was arrested on an active warrant out of Scotch Plains by Officer Tricia Dilollo. Mastache was processed and released.

On Nov. 11: Catherine N. Courtot, 28, of Metuchen was arrested on an active warrant out of Clark during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Charlie Tripet. Courtot was transported to headquarters and processed.
