4 Vehicles Burglarized In 1 Week In Scotch Plains

Scotch Plains also reported making arrests for outstanding warrants and driving under the influence recently.

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — A total of four vehicles were burglarized in the same week in Scotch Plains, police report.

On April 17: A resident on W. Broad Street reported a vehicle burglary. The vehicle was entered during the overnight hours with several items stolen. This remains under investigation

On April 18: A resident on Byrd Aveue reported a vehicle burglary. The vehicle was entered overnight and numerous items removed from the vehicle. This remains under investigation.

On April 21: A resident on Newark Avenue reported a vehicle burglary. The incident occurred sometime during the previous four days. Several items were removed. This remains under investigation.

On April 22: A resident on Jersey Avenue reported a vehicle burglary. The vehicle was entered sometime overnight with numerous items taken. This remains under investigation.

On April 16: Myles J. Webster, 32, of Rahway was arrested on outstanding warrants out of Scotch Plains and the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department. Arrested by Patrolman Charles Tripet.

On April 18: Talonda Leverette, 23, of Linden was arrested on an active warrant out of Linden
during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Rich Hernandez. Leverette was transported to headquarters and processed.

On April 20: A resident on Rivervale Court reported a fraud. Victim stated she found numerous unauthorized transactions on one of her bank accounts. This remains under investigation.

On April 21: Mahasin H. Woods, 40, of Newark was arrested for driving under the influence
during a roadside investigation conducted by Patrolman Mike Baltazar. Woods was transported to headquarters and processed.
