4 Vehicles Burglarized Recently In Scotch Plains

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Four vehicles were burglarized last week in the township, according to the Scotch Plains Police blotter.

A resident in the 2300 block of Elizabeth Avenue reported their vehicle was burglarized during the overnight hours of Aug. 10, police said.

A resident on Algonquin Drive reported their vehicle was burglarized during the overnight hours on Aug. 11. Two more vehicles were reportedly burglarized on Sleepy Hollow Lane during the overnight hours on Aug. 15, police said.

Other Scotch Plains Police blotter items:

On Aug. 10: A resident on Westfield Road reported fraudulent activity regarding accounts on her computer and an attempted money scam. Under investigation.

On Aug. 11: A resident on Country Club Lane reported unauthorized transactions on a debit account. Under investigation.

On Aug. 14: Officer Tricia DiLollo and Officer Gerard Rites responded to Route 22 East on a reported vehicle fire. Upon arrival they located a 2000 black Toyota engulfed in flames. The driver and passenger were outside the vehicle and were not injured. The Scotch Plains Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.

On Aug. 17: The management at the public storage facility located at 1750 Rt. 22 reported criminal mischief. A vehicle entered the lot and struck the locked entrance gate several times before fleeing. Under investigation.

On Aug. 17: A resident on Church Street reported fraudulent activity on credit accounts. Under investigation.
