Alleged Prosecutorial Misconduct in Union County

A complaint was filed with the New Jersey Attorney General's office regarding alleged misconduct by the Union County Prosecutor's Office.

In 2016, the Innocence Project released a report that highlights the lack of prosecutorial oversight and discipline in the US. The Innocence Project explained that prosecutorial misconduct “as defined by the courts, includes any conduct by a prosecutor that violates a defendant’s rights, regardless of whether that conduct was known or should have been known to be improper by the prosecutor, or whether the prosecutor intended to violate legal requirements.”
