SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Scotch Plains Township will begin a seasonal road milling and paving project next week.
Motorists are advised to expect daytime road closures and delays.
Work on the Hetfield Avenue Bridge is scheduled to begin on or about July 7, with paving planned for July 8.
The roadway will be closed to all vehicles from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during construction, and no traffic will be permitted through the work zone until the project is completed.
The work, expected to take about two days, will be carried out by the Scotch Plains Department of Public Works in partnership with the Borough of Fanwood.
Township officials are asking motorists to plan alternate routes, allow extra travel time, and exercise caution in construction areas while the roadway improvements are underway.
