Alleged Child Rapist Nabbed In Union County Using Flock Camera System

FANWOOD, NJ — An alleged child rapist was caught by Fanwood Police with the help of the Flock camera system.

Toyin Adekale Patterson was wanted in Jefferson County, Tennessee, in connection with a charge of rape of a child, said the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

Police entered Patterson's vehicle into the Flock Safety camera system on Aug. 7.

A Flock camera initially detected Patterson's vehicle in Scotch Plains, and that information was shared with neighboring police departments.

Fanwood Police Officer Christopher Pineiro later saw Patterson's vehicle driving in Fanwood and conducted a traffic stop.

Patterson was taken into custody.

"The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office extends its appreciation to the Scotch Plains Police Department and Fanwood Police Department for their cooperation and assistance in locating and apprehending Patterson," said the Sheriff's Office on Aug. 9.
