The Fanwood Fire Department said road marshals are needed along the race route to guide runners, help ensure safety and cheer them on, with volunteers receiving a free race T-shirt and pizza afterward.

Volunteers should be at least 16 years old, although younger volunteers may participate alongside an adult. Families and groups of friends can also volunteer together.

Those interested can sign up to volunteer online.
