SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — A Scotch Plains watch party will bring residents together Tuesday for a global event supporting metastatic breast cancer research.
The township announced the free #LightUpMBC Live fundraiser begins at 8 p.m., with a local watch party at Stage House Tavern hosted by Scotch Plains City Lifestyle Magazine.
The watch party will feature free food and a cash bar, with a suggested minimum donation of $25 at the door.
Scotch Plains resident Tami Eagle Bowling, a metastatic breast cancer survivor, produces and co-hosts the event alongside Kara Lindsay, a breast cancer survivor and Broadway performer who previously played Glinda in Wicked.
The program features patient stories, musical performances and research updates, benefiting METAvivor.
Residents can also watch through METAvivor's YouTube channel or Facebook Live.
The event coincides with Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day.
