SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Local history comes alive this weekend as the Osborn Cannonball House Museum opens for a free, two-day celebration.
The museum, located at 1840 Front Street, will participate in Union County's Four Centuries in a Weekend on Saturday, Oct. 17, and Sunday, Oct. 18, from noon to 5 p.m. both days.
According to the Historical Society of Scotch Plains and Fanwood, visitors can explore colonial-era clothing, learn about gravestone carving and watch a live 18th-century stone-carving demonstration.
Children can also enjoy a craft activity and an early Halloween treat.
The Historical Society of Scotch Plains and Fanwood's event announcement does not list a requirement for registering in advance.
