Archie Comics Co-CEO to Visit Scotch Plains Public Library

On Saturday, April 14 at 1 pm, the library will host an afternoon talk with Archie Comics co-CEO Nancy Silberkleit. The Archie Comics line is one of the most successful, longest-running brands in the history of the comics industry. Archie Comics have sold 5.1 billion copies and are published in a dozen different foreign languages and distributed all over the world. Archie Comics has spawned characters whose popularity has spilled over into other media and who have become part of popular culture.
As co-CEO, Silberkleit harnesses the power of graphic literacy to advance causes she is passionate about such as literacy, anti-bullying, and the environment. As a former school teacher, she has coined a personal motto that “Children+Comic Books=Reading, Knowledge, and Confidence.”
A highly sought after speaker, Silberkleit has spoken at conferences and events all around the world. She is dedicated to empowering youth. Light refreshments will be provided. Registration is strongly recommended.
