Black History Month Program at Scotch Plains Public Library
Screening of A Day In The Life of A Black Person: an 11-minute video created and presented by members of SPFHS' Back Student Union.

In honor of Black History Month 2017, the Scotch Plains Public Library invites the public to a student-led discussion and film screening at the library at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, February 15. Come watch and discuss A Day In The Life of A Black Person: presented by SPFHS Black Student Union, an 11-minute video. This “Student Summit” is a repeat performance of a well-received presentation made by the students on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service.
The video includes both Black and White students role-playing and presenting scenarios that, while uncomfortable, are realistic to their everyday experiences. Chat with the teens behind the production, as they give us an entrée into their world and share their concerns.
Light refreshments will be served. Reservations are not required. This program is co-sponsored by Social Justice Matters, Inc.
