An Enthusiast’s Take, and Yours, on the American Revolution

An Enthusiast’s Take, and Yours, on the American Revolution

Old Guard member Allen Hamilton will lead a presentation and group discussion of the American Revolution. Mr. Hamilton has studied many works about the leaders of the revolution and its military campaigns. Topics will include politics; the British and colonists; logistics of war; key battles won and lost; and Nathanael Greene (quartermaster and head of the Southern Command).Allen took early retirement from Exxon to become an independent investment consultant. He has served as president of the Association for Advancement of Cost Engineering and chair of the International Cost Engineering Council. He has also become an avid student of American history.

The Summit Area Old Guard is a social, educational, and recreational fellowship of active men of retirement age, founded in 1930. We hear presentations most Tuesday mornings in an auditorium in New Providence, and we have many other activities including discussion groups, sports and outdoor groups, and celebrations. Our dues are minimal, and members volunteer for all aspects of the operation. Our motto is "Come for the programs. Stay for the friends." Guests are always welcome to attend and to learn about our organization.
