Free Family Service for Erev Rosh Hashanah at Congregation Beth Israel

Congregation Beth Israel (CBI) in Scotch Plains will hold its annual family service on Erev Rosh Hashanah, Friday evening, September 11, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.This child-friendly service is free and open to the community.

The one-hour service will usher in the Jewish New Year and Shabbat with songs, stories and prayers. Rabbi Howard Tilman and Cantor Jacob Greenberg will officiate.

“The Rosh Hashanah family service is a beautiful way to begin the holiday together as a Jewish community,” said Rabbi Tilman. “Welcoming people of all backgrounds, experience levels and ages reflects so much of what we strive to be. The New Year is a time of hope, possibility, and renewed connection to our identity, and we invite the wider community to join in this special Rosh Hashanah celebration.”

There is no need for synagogue membership or tickets to attend CBI’s family service. However, registration is required at cbinj.org/event/erevrh5787
