The weekend includes educational sessions, guest speakers, and hands-on learning opportunities throughout the living classroom of the Walt Disney World Resort.
Cheyenne had to complete three separate essays to be considered. In the first, she had to tell her life story. She focused on growing up in a single parent household and not letting that situation hinder her goals. In the second, she had to write about an influential experience, and Cheyenne wrote about her role as President of Glamour Gals at UC, a club that offers makeovers, manicures, and companionship to elderly women. In the third, she wrote of her goals, including a career in business, her intention to continue doing the work of Glamour Gals beyond her high school graduation, and her dream of owning her own business one day.

Cheyenne is very excited about the trip and glad to have the opportunity to network with other teenagers on the same path that she is on. She is also looking forward to being inspired by the professionals and celebrities who will be in attendance and she hopes to land an internship at Disney after her experience at the Academy has concluded. Cheyenne feels her sense of community will allow her to accomplish all of these dreams. She lives her life by a popular African proverb: “If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
