Dabo Is Scotch Plains-Fanwood's Pet Of The Week

SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ — Meet Dabo! He has been chosen as Scotch Plains-Fanwood Patch's Pet Of The Week.

"I'd like to nominate Dabo for Scotch Plains-Fanwood Pet of the Week. Dabo is a one and a half year old Sato Rescue from the streets of Puerto Rico. He is a mixed breed with a little Coonhound, Dalmation, Shepard, and surprisingly some Chihuaha. We rescued him on Dec. 26, 2016 when he was just about 4 months old. Since then, Dabo has been spoiled with love and affection. His companionship has brought true happiness to our family.

Some of Dabo's favorite things to do is play fetch, go on car rides, and go on long walks with his pal Penne. He also loves to visit the dog beach and Yappy Hour at the Wonder Bar at Asbury Park. Dabo adores belly and butt rubs and enjoys snuggling with his family every chance he gets. Recently he has been enjoying the Olympics and rooting for the USA.

Dabo doesn't like the rain but loves to frolic in the snow. During the summer, you can find Dabo (and his Dad) on a float in the pool enjoying the warmth of the sun or on a kayak at Round Valley. Dabo spends a lot of time experiencing the outdoors and truly can't get enough.

Participating in the Pet of the Week happenings is simple: submit your nomination by emailing alexis.tarrazi@patch.com. Be sure to include a photograph or two of your pet, a paragraph about what makes him or her so great, and the part of town you're from. You can choose to include your name, but you don't need to. Then just keep an eye out for a photo of your pet on the Patch!

The photo can be of a present pet, or it can be a baby picture of the adult pet you're so proud of today.

Additionally the chosen Pet of the Week will receive 20 percent off any single item in Dukes's Pet Den in Scotch Plains. And winners can also bring their pet into the store, located at 417 Park Ave., in Scotch Plains for a picture. Duke's will put them up on their Facebook page as well.
