Damaged Mailbox, Car Burglary Reported In Scotch Plains
Scotch Plains Police also reported making multiple arrests for outstanding warrants.
SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Scotch Plains Police reported a damaged mailbox, car burglary and making multiple outstanding warrant arrests recently.
Scotch Plains Police blotter:
On March 11: Brian R. Brown, 36, of Newark was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of the Union County Sheriff’s Department during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Rich Hernandez. Brown was additionally charged with possession of prescription legend drugs. Brown was transported to headquarters, processed and transported to the Union County Jail.

On March 15: A resident on Raritan Road reported damage to their mailbox which occurred during the overnight hours. Additional mailboxes in the area were also damaged.
On March 16: Sean J. Ortega, 20, of Newark was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Neptune during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Jason Everitt. Ortega was transported to headquarters and processed.

On March 17: Monique B. Crump, 30, of Sayreville was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Elizabeth during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Joe Kostecki. Crump was transported to headquarters and processed.
On March 18: Derric J. Coleman, 23, of Plainfield was arrested on outstanding warrants out of Fanwood, Union and Plainfield during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Joe Kostecki. Coleman was transported to headquarters and processed.
On March 18: Jenifer Acosta-Nunez, 20, of Plainfield was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Scotch Plains by Patrolman Rich Hernandez. Acosta-Nunez was processed and released.
On March 18: A resident of Colonia reported the theft of her purse from her vehicle which was parked at the YMCA located at 1340 Martine Ave. Scotch Plains. This remains under investigation.
