December Movies at ScotLib

In honor of his 100th birthday, December’s “Friday Films” will feature movies starring Frank Sinatra. Each film will begin at NOON.

Friday, December 4: Ocean’s Eleven (1960, 127 minutes)
During a Los Angeles Christmas, a group of 82nd Airborne vets assembles under the leadership of gamblin’ man Danny Ocean to rip off five Las Vegas casinos just after the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Day.

Friday, December 11: On the Town (1949, 98 minutes)
Three sailors on a day of shore leave in New York City look for fun and romance before their twenty-four hours are up. The film was directed by Gene Kelly and Stanley Donen. It stars Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra, Anne Miller, Betty Garrett, Jules Munshin, and Vera-Ellen.

Friday, December 18: From Here to Eternity (1953, 118 minutes): In 1941 Hawaii, a private is cruelly punished for not boxing on his unit’s team, while his captain’s wife and second in command are falling in love.
