Drama Club is proud to present “The Trial of Goldilocks” on Friday, May 23rd at 7pm in the Academy gym. This comedy is a twist on the original fairy tale, telling the story from three different points of view - the original story, the bears’, and Goldilocks’.
Over 50 of our students in grades five through eight participate in the Drama Club. Under the direction of Assistant Principal, Sue Florendo and our Middle School Language Arts Teacher, Mary Schoendorf our actors have been busy rehearsing lines since January. Other members of the club have been constructing the production sets led by our Set Director, Leslie Viviano, a parent volunteer.
The cast includes eighth graders Samantha Amo as Goldilocks, Ryan Lopez as Papa Bear, and 7th graders Vanessa Sousa as Mama Bear and Karen Degnan as Baby Bear. The defense and prosecuting attorneys who are determined to find the truth are eighth graders Madeline Ryder and Tyriq Gay. Will Goldilocks be found guilty and sent to prison or will the truth come out? Join us on May 17th and find out! Tickets are $5.00 and will be on sale soon.
We also want to congratulate second grader Andrew Dreyer who recently achieved his Boy Scouts of America Light of Christ award. This award, designed for Cub Scouts in first or second grade, encourages a boy to develop a personal relationship with Jesus, and to see Him as a real person and as his friend, with the active participation of his family. Andrew was presented the award at the Academy’s First Friday mass. All of the boys in the St Bartholomew Cub Scout Pack 103 wore their uniforms to school for the Mass to show their support and to celebrate Andrew's achievement.
