Driver Assaulted During Road Rage Incident In Scotch Plains: Cops

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — A driver was assaulted during a road rage incident in the township recently, according to the Scotch Plains Police blotter.

On July 22, a New York resident reported a road rage incident on Park Avenue.

During the incident, the suspect described as a short heavyset Black woman exited her vehicle, assaulted the victim and stole her cell phone, according to police.

This remains under investigation.

On July 21: An 18-year-old from Plainfield was arrested for hindering apprehension and possession of marijuana during a pedestrian stop conducted by Patrolman Mike Baltazar and Patrolman Rich Sopko. The teen was taken to headquarters and processed.

On July 21: Horlf S. Legerme, 27, of Scotch Plains was arrested on active warrants out of Clark during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Joe Kostecki. Legerme was taken to headquarters and processed.

Park and Jersey City during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Luis Pereira. Rodriguez was taken to headquarters and processed.

On July 26: Bryan M. Holder, 41, of Newark was arrested on an active warrant out of Irvington during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Mike Baltazar. Holder was taken to headquarters and processed.

On July 26: Joshua C. Williams, 37, of Roselle was arrested on an active warrant out of Roselle during a suspicious person investigation conducted by Patrolman Mike Smolinski. Williams was taken to headquarters and processed.

On July 26: A resident in the 300 block of Willow Avenue reported the theft of items from the home. This remains under investigation.

On July 26: A resident on Rivervale Court reported one of their tires was slashed during the overnight hours. This remains under investigation.

On July 26: A 49-year-old of Westfield was arrested for driving under the influence during a
suspicious motor vehicle investigation conducted by Patrolman Joe Mirabile. The driver was taken to headquarters and processed.

On July 27: A resident on Country Club Lane reported fraudulent activity on a bank account. This remains under investigation.

On July 27: A resident on Hill Road reported the theft of several packages from his front steps. This remains under investigation.
