Early Dismissal For Plainfield Schools Due To Weather

While the risk of severe thunderstorms has subsided, a flash flood watch has expanded to the entire state, said Superintendent Mitchell.

PLAINFIELD, NJ — Plainfield Public Schools will be dismissed early on Tuesday due to weather conditions, Superintendent Dr. Diana Mitchell announced.

"Thank you to all Plainfield Public Schools Employees for continuing to Champion for Students! While the risk of severe thunderstorms has subsided, The National Weather Service expanded the flash flood watch to the entire state," said Mitchell.

  • Middle School and High School students at 12:30 p.m.
  • Elementary Schools at 1 p.m.
  • 10 Month staff will be dismissed by building administration.
  • 12 Month employees may leave at 3 p.m.

The Boys Varsity Soccer game vs Linden has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 27 at Seidler Field in Plainfield, North Avenue and Netherwood, Plainfield. The PPSD Seniors will be honored at Halftime.
