Scotch Plains Policeman’s Benevolent Association Local 87 will be holding a 5K run/walk to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project on Saturday, June 16th. The event will take place at 430 Park Avenue, Scotch Plains. The race fee is $35.00 and registration will begin at 8:00 AM.
The mission of the Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower our wounded warriors. The purpose of the Wounded Warrior Project is threefold: to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members, to help injured service members aid and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.
Local Wounded Warrior alumni and veterans will be on hand to both tell their stories and also participate in the race. The atmosphere of the day will reflect the values of the WWP and the PBA Local 87: fun, loyalty and service. The event will end at 4:00PM with a presentation of awards.
