Fall 2 registration at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains Y begins October 23
The Fanwood-Scotch Plain YMCA is offering new and returning programs for youth, teens and adults.

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ – The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA is offering a variety of new programs and returning favorites for the Fall 2 session, which begins November 6, 2023. There is something for everyone with everything from preschool readiness classes and youth gymnastics to youth and teen sports and enrichment programs for all ages.
Registration for fall 2 programs begins Monday, October 23 at 9:00am and is
open to active FSPY members. The Y’s Fall 2 Program Session runs from November

The Y is currently undergoing an exciting building expansion project and
programs and services are continuing throughout construction. In addition to
the session highlights below, the Y continues to offer a range of programs and
services included with full membership such as: group exercise classes for all
fitness levels and interests; lap swimming and water walking lanes; family
swim; select adult sports programs; open gym; special events, and more. Plus,
FSPY now has a virtual wellness platform that members can access anytime,
anywhere!

Youth Sports: You want sports? The Y has all sorts!
For the Fall 2 session, the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA is offering sports
classes for ages 3 and up, including Pre-K All Star Sports, Mini Ninja Warrior
and Preschool Soccer for ages 3-5; Ninja Warrior (ages 5-8); Basketball Skills
(grades K-4); Youth Pickleball (ages 6-11); Plus, there’s Archery for ages
8-18!
Youth Gymnastics: The Y offers a variety of classes for
different ages and levels, starting at age 3 and up. Gymnastics classes will
help your child develop balance, coordination and self-esteem, while building
their gymnastics skills. Our youth classes also utilize the Beam, Bar, Floor
and Vault to develop gymnastics skills.
Youth and Teen Enrichments: Starting with preschoolers, the
Y is offering the Into the Wild and Ooey Gooey Messy Fingers for ages 3-5. For
school aged kids, there’s several engaging and fun new programs: Drawing 101
(ages 6-11); STEM 101 (ages 9-12); Catch ‘Em All (ages 5-11) Young Rembrandts
(ages 9-12), and Let's Cook (ages 6-11).
Teen Fitness: We are continuing the Y’s popular Teen Wellness
program for teens ages 12-13 in grades 7-8, which teaches them to safely and
effectively use the equipment in our Wellness Center. We are also offering Teen
and Family group exercise classes including Teen Cycle, Family Yoga, and Teen
and Family Zumba, which are included with Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA
membership.
Preschool Readiness: For the 2023-2024 School Year, the
Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA is excited to offer Preschool Readiness programs.
These half-day programs for kids ages 2.5-3 years old prepare students for
preschool through activities designed to help them learn, grow and thrive.
Kids Night Out: Parents can go out without the kids, while
the kids have a blast at the Y! Held the second Friday of the month from
6:00-9:45pm, kids will enjoy a pizza dinner, popcorn, a movie and free swim.
This program is open to Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA members in grades K-4.
Health and Safety Classes: The Y continues to offer
American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid, CPR and AED courses, which
are open to FSPY members and members of the community. Plus, American Red Cross
Lifeguarding courses are available throughout the year, including this fall.
