Fanwood Entrepreneur Launches New Watch Collection

J.Ciro's "focus is to offer stylish, quality products that stand out from the crowd while staying affordable for its customers."

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Fanwood local and self-proclaimed "watch fanatic" Joe Cirincione is launching a new watch collection through his company J.Ciro.

Cirincione started J.Ciro in 2014 focusing only on cuff links — traditional, modern, and niche — for the first two years. He then launched the first watch collection, The Ambassador Collection, in 2016. The newest watch collection was launched in late October. Cuff links range from $40 to $75 and watches range from $219 to $329.

J.Ciro also offers a variety of accessories including additional straps for the watches and leather travel wallets.

"I owned 20-plus pieces in my personal collection prior to starting my own brand. It only made sense to start a company and take it in this direction, following a passion of mine," Cirincione said.

The idea to launch J.Ciro, however, was inspired by his wedding.

"When my wife and I were getting married, I wanted to buy watches and cuff links for the wedding party. After searching through cuff link designs, I couldn't find anything I wanted at the right price. At that time, I decided to be creative and make the cuff links for the big day," Cirincione said.

During the wedding reception, Cirincione's grandfather Joseph presented him with a beautiful pair of custom made cuff links. Since they share the same name his gift was his one-of-a-kind pair of "JC" cuff links.

"That moment inspired me to keep the train moving, continue creating, and start the company," Cirincione said.

The name of the company, "Ciro", is came from a family nickname used for years.

"My grandparents owned a hair salon for over 40 years called 'Ciro's'. I decided to keep the name similar in the hopes of similar success," Cirincione said.
