Scotch Plains Police Blotter
Scotch Plains Police also reported a foot pursuit and charging multiple people with outstanding warrants and driving under the influence.
SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Scotch Plains Police release their weekly blotter items:
On Sept. 24: A resident on Jersey Avenue reported a motor vehicle burglary that occurred in August. At the time the resident did not believe anything had been stolen. Union Police Department recovered items belonging to the victim during the course of one of their investigations.
On Sept. 24: Alec J. Coward, 25, of Plainfield was arrested for a parole violation and on charges of
hindering apprehension and resisting arrest. Coward was arrested after a foot pursuit involving Sgt. Dave Lavery and Det. Dave Belford as well as multiple officers from Scotch Plains. Also arrested was Britney A. Tolliver, 22, of Scotch Plains on charges of hindering apprehension. Both arrests were the result of a previous investigation in which Coward fled from Scotch Plains officers. Both were transported to headquarters and processed.

On Sept. 26: A resident on Dogwood Drive reported fraudulent activity on their ATM card. This remains under investigation.
On Sept. 27: Katherine L. Nemeth, 25, of Cranford was arrested for driving under the influence during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Mike Baltazar. Nemeth was transported to headquarters and processed.

On Sept. 27: Benson Philippe, 28, of Newark was arrested on active warrants out of Cranford and
Tenafly during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Scott Leyden. Philippe was transported to headquarters and processed.
On Sept. 28: Toni T. Lee, 30, of Newark was arrested on an active warrant out of Newark during a
motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Mike Baltazar. Lee was transported to headquarters and processed.
On Sept. 29: Ivan Mostacero, 37, of Piscataway was arrested on an active warrant out of North
Plainfield during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Chris Ostrowski. Mostacero was transported to headquarters and processed.
On Sept. 29: Walik A. Hemingway, 28, of Newark was arrested on active warrants out of Scotch Plains, Irvington and Newark during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Eric Fricks. Hemingway was transported to headquarters and processed.
On Sept. 30: Burno Q. Lashan, 39, of Jersey City was arrested on an active warrant out of Jersey
City during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Damian Serafin. Lashan was transported to headquarters and processed.
On Sept. 30: Dariusz Golen, 52, of Watchung was arrested for driving under the influence during a
motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Willie DeJesus. Golen was transported to headquarters and processed.
