Fanwood Man Killed By NJ Transit Train

Emmanuel Laboy, 24 of Fanwood was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train late Saturday night near the Elizabeth station.

FANWOOD, NJ — A Fanwood man was identified as the trespasser stuck by an NJ Transit train late Saturday night near the Elizabeth station.

Emmanuel Laboy, 24 was struck and killed around 11:20 p.m. by a Northeast Corridor train number 7883 that left from New York Penn Station at 10:57 p.m. and was heading to Trenton, NJ Transit Spokesman Jim Smith said.

There were no reported injuries to the approximately 600 customers or crew on board the train, Smith said.

Services were briefly suspended and has since reopened. NJ Transit police are leading the investigation.
