Fanwood Man Threatened NJ Transit Conductor With Scissors: Police
Prudencio Cruz, 65, of Fanwood allegedly pulled out scissors and threatened to harm an NJ Transit conductor before fleeing on foot.

FANWOOD, NJ — A Fanwood man was arrested after pulling out scissors and threatening to hurt an NJ Transit train conductor on Sunday, authorities report.
On Friday, May 3 Prudencio Cruz, 65, of Fanwood was getting off off the North Jersey Coast Line train 3240 as it arrived at Perth Amboy Station when he showed a pair of scissors and threatened to harm the conductor before fleeing on foot, NJ Transit reported.
The conductor was not injured.

A photo of Cruz was shared on social media where an NJ Transit employee in Hoboken recognized Cruz and alerted New Jersey Transit Police. Cruz was arrested on Sunday.
Cruz was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He was transported to Middlesex County jail.

The safety of our employees and customers is our top priority," said NJ Transit Executive Director Kevin Corbett. "The swift arrest in this case should remind anyone intending to harm a train crew member or bus operator that you will be caught and held accountable."
