Public safety took the spotlight at the May 20, 2014, Fanwood Borough Council meeting. Resolutions for Police Week and EMS Week brought members of the Fanwood Police Department and Fanwood Rescue Squad to the council to receive citations. Police Chief Richard Trigo and Sgt. Marc Gottlick received honors for their response to the armed standoff on Locust Avenue last November. And Rescue Squad Captain Patty Buckridee and daughters Karolyn and Elizabeth, also squad members, received Volunteers of the Month honors. Congratulations to all the honorees.
