Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA (FSPY) 8 and Under Swimmers

The New Jersey YMCA 8 and Under Championships were held on February 10, 2024 at Jersey Aquatic Center in New Providence, NJ. Twenty-three YMCA teams from across the state participated in the event. This championship is open to the youngest swimmers in the YMCA team community.

The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA (FSPY) 8 and Under swimmers had great results with many awards, personal best times, and a few new team records! The Girls Championship session was held first on Saturday morning and had 279 participants, followed immediately by the Boys Championship session Saturday afternoon, which had 223 swimmers.

The FSPY Piranhas combined session scores resulted in a 3rd place rank for the team in the NJ YMCA 8 and Under Championship.

Congratulations to Jack Piskadlo for breaking three 8 and under Boys records:

• 25 Yard Freestyle with a new record time of 14.35
• 25 Yard Backstroke with a time of 16.80
• 25 Yard Butterfly with a time of 15.22

The 8U relay team of P. Czarnik, J. Piskadlo, S. Schiffman and A. Tong finished in 7th place in the 100 Yard Medley Relay. The 8U freestyle A relay team of J. Piskadlo, S. Schiffman, A. Tong and T. Velez finished in 5th place and the 8U freestyle B relay team of P. Czarnik, A. Goetz, J. Lindner and R. Titiliuc took 27th place in the 100 Yard Freestyle Relay.
