Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA partners with American Red Cross

The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA will host a community blood drive with the American Red Cross on Sunday, February 23 from 9am to 2pm at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA, 1340 Martine Avenue in Scotch Plains.

Please visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter: FanwoodScotchPlains or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) to schedule an appointment. An appointment is required for February 23rd’s blood drive.

Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. It is essential for surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. Whether a patient receives whole blood, red cells, platelets or plasma, this lifesaving care starts with one person making a generous donation.

“Donating blood is an incredibly impactful way to support our community as your contribution can make a life-saving difference. We are proud to collaborate with the American Red Cross for such an important cause. This blood drive exemplifies our commitment to supporting the health and well-being of our community.” said Stephanie Uske, Aquatics Director. She continues, “We urge all eligible donors to participate and help address the urgent need for blood donations."

Maximize your blood donation and help more patients. If you are an eligible type O, B - or A - donor, consider making a Power Red donation. Red blood cells are the most commonly transfused blood component.
