Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA Swim Team is Back in the Pool

In addition to practices and meets, the team is hosting drives to benefit the community

The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA (FSPY) Swim Team has welcomed back returning swimmers and 50 new swimmers for the 2022-2023 season. Regular team practices across all age groups began on Monday, September 12.

The team kicked off what is shaping up to be another successful season with the Red and Black Intra-squad Scrimmage on Sunday, October 2. Swimmers from the 8 and under group through to the 15-18 age group compete in this long-standing team tradition before they dive into dual and invitational meets in mid-October.

The Swim Team is looking forward to an exciting year both in and out of the pool. Team members are currently conducting a Food Drive for the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church Food Pantry. Donations are being collected through Saturday, October 8, in the FSPY lobby, 1340 Martine Avenue in Scotch Plains. Donations also will be collected at IHM, 1571 Martine Ave., on Sunday, October 9 from 10:00am-12:00pm. For a list of non-perishable food items being collected, visit https://fspymca.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Swim-Team-Fall-Food-Drive-2022.pdf.
