Four Buffalo Soldiers from the Army's Negro 92nd Division find themselves separated from their unit and behind enemy lines. They discover humanity in the small Tuscan village of St. Anna di Stazzema.

The determined Jim Ellis restores an abandoned pool and starts a swim team for troubled teens at the Philadelphia Department of Recreation.

February 16: Marshall (PG-13, 118 min)

The story of Thurgood Marshall, a lawyer who became the first African American to be Solicitor General and a Supreme Court justice.

February 23: Amistad (R, 152 min)

In 1839, slaves start a shipboard rebellion en route to America. Later, a sympathetic former slave convinces a property lawyer to prove the kidnapped Africans were "stolen goods", and the case goes to the Supreme Court.
