2 Injured In 3 Alarm House Fire In North Plainfield

NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ — Two residents were injured in a three-alarm house fire in North Plainfield that had firefighters from three counties respond on Tuesday. Authorities are currently investigating the cause.

The fire broke out at a home on Grove Street at around 11 a.m.

Two residents of the home were injured from the fire and taken to an undisclosed trauma center. The two residents injured are identified as two adult men with one listed in critical condition, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson said.

Fire companies from Somerset County (North Plainfield, Bridgewater/Finderne, Bound Brook, Green Brook, Watchung and Warren), Union County (Plainfield), and Middlesex County (South Plainfield) all came to help extinguish the fire. Emergency Medical Personnel from North Plainfield, JFK Paramedics, Atlantic BLS, and Robert Wood Johnson also responded.

Once the scene is determined safe by fire officials, detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office along with North Plainfield Police, the Somerset County Fire Investigation Unit and Fire Officials from North Plainfield will conduct the investigation to try and figure out the cause and origin of the fire.
