Five Things: Funeral for Lienhard; Lectures on Immigration, Art and Parks
The events and issues to keep in mind today.
- The funeral for Scotch Plains firefighter Francis J. Lienhard, 65, is taking place today at 10:30 a.m. The service will be held at in Scotch Plains, and Lienhard will be interred at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. He will be buried in a traditional firefighters' ceremony, and will be transported from the funeral home to the cemetery by motorcade. For his obituary, click here.
- Fanwood resident Joseph Qutub, a Palestinian immigrant who founded a foundation that has awarded more than 37,000 scholarships to students from the Middle East, will deliver a talk at 7 p.m. at the on Thursday evening. - The Scotch Plains and Fanwood Arts Association hosts a presentation tonight by children's book author and illustrator Dave Neuhaus, who is also a resident of Fanwood. The program starts at 7 p.m. at the in Fanwood. Click here for more information.
