Flooding Closes Parts Of Route 22 In Scotch Plains Area
Kean University also canceled all classes on Tuesday due to the storm. And Route 22 is closed in multiple areas.
FANWOOD, NJ — The Nor'Easter is upon us Tuesday morning and reports of flooding are beginning to crop up.
In Scotch Plains, Route 22 eastbound is closed at Park Avenue and at Bonnie Burn Road westbound due to flooding.
Additionally, Westfield Road near the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Regional High School (from Happel Court to Birchwood Terrace) is shut down due to flooding, said Fanwood Police in an alert Tuesday around 7:50 .m.

"At this time school buses can still get by but regular vehicles will NOT be able to pass. The Board of Ed has been advised," said police.
With part of Westfield Road being shut down near SPFHS, people driving to the high school should enter through Evergreen Avenue (off of Westfield Avenue) near Evergreen Elementary School, said police,

"People should AVOID WESTFIELD ROAD NEAR THE HIGH SCHOOL as it is shut to vehicular traffic," said police.
Additionally, all Kean University classes on the main campus and Kean Skylands are canceled Tuesday due to the storm and the State of Emergency declared by Gov. Phil Murphy. Classes were also canceled on Monday night as a result of the storm.
Nearby in Green Brook, Route 22 West at the intersection of Rock Avenue is closed due to flooding. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
In Mountainside, Route 22 remains closed in both directions at Glenside Rd near Robinhood Rd with a downed tree and electric wires.
In Bridgewater, all lanes on Route 22 west are closed at Chimney Rock Road. Route 22 east is down to one lane by Chimney Rock Road in Bridgewater.
A flash flood warning remains in effect until 9:30 a.m. and a flash flood watch until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
