FSPY gymnasts have another successful meet
11 team members have qualified for YMCA Nationals to be held this June
The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA (FSPY) A & B Division Gymnastics Teams had another away meet on February 2. The meet was hosted by the Madison Area YMCA.
Jillian Miele represented the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA’s A Division Gymnastics Team. She was awarded the 3rd place ribbon on Balance Beam, 5th place on Vault and 7th in the All Around.
Alana Beardsley, Elizabeth Parvin and Alice Ping represented FSPY’s B Division Level 7 Gymnastics Team. Ping received 1st place on Vault.

The FSPY B Division Level 6 Gymnastics Team was represented by 10 Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA gymnasts in four different age groups.
Agnes Yee received 2nd place in the All-Around and Vault in the 11 and under age category. She also was awarded 3rd place on Balance Beam and Floor, and 4th place on Bars. Sophia Monteith received 4th place on Vault and 5th place on Bars, Balance Beam and All-Around. Fourth place on Balance Beam went to Aiden Steinwald while 5th place on Bars and Floor went to Vivian Yu. Diane Morrow also represented this age group.

Xing Liao and Heather Sherman represented the FSPY team in the 12-year-old and 13-year-old age groups respectively.
Eva Pereira received 1st place on Vault, 4th on Balance Beam and 7th in the All-Around in the 14-year-old age group. Sarah Sicoli placed 3rd on Bars, while Jessica Glander placed 5th on Vault to help qualify her for the YMCA National Gymnastics Championships along with her teammates who qualified in the last competition.
YMCA National Gymnastics Championships will be taking place in Long Beach, California June 23-27, 2020. Congratulations to all our National qualifiers: Jillian Miele, Elizabeth Parvin, Sarah Sicoli, Eva Pereira, Alice Ping, Sophia Monteith, Aiden Steinwald, Vivian Yu, Agnes Yee, Xing Liao and Jessica Glander.
The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA offers gymnastics classes for children ages walking through 8th grade. Classes are offered Monday through Saturday. Now is a great time to begin taking gymnastics at the YMCA! Registration is also open for summer school-age gymnastics camps. Dance and sports classes and camps are also offered at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA. We also host Gymnastics, Dance and Sports Birthday parties.
