FSPY offers free membership for incoming 7th graders

The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA (FSPY) is proud to continue offering the 7th Grade Initiative program, a free one-year YMCA membership to 7th graders in Clark, Fanwood and Scotch Plains. The membership is effective for incoming 7th graders from June 17, 2019 to June 30, 2020.

At FSPY, we know that 7th grade is a pivotal and transitional time for many teens. It is a time when they are granted freedom to choose how they spend their out-of-school hours. These habits and choices that begin in 7th grade are likely to continue into adulthood. FSPY provides positive opportunities for teens to make good decisions and form healthy habits.

The free membership for 7th graders includes: FSPY’s Teen Wellness Program; access to the Wellness Center during select hours; open gym; open swim; Teen Cycle, Zumba and Yoga; access to the Fun Interactive Training (FIT) Room featuring Exergame Fitness Equipment, and Pop-Up Fitness and Life Skills classes. All of these are held in a social atmosphere in a safe, supervised and conveniently-located environment.

It’s easy to get started with your free 7th grade membership. The 7th grader and a parent can simply visit the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA, located at 1340 Martine Avenue in Scotch Plains and sign up beginning June 17th. Just bring a school ID, roster or report card, sign a code of conduct, and complete a few quick forms to begin your membership.
