FSPY Swim Team Kicks Off a New Swim Season with a Busy September

It has been a busy month for the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA (FSPY) swim team! The team kicked off the 2023-24 season with the annual Red and Black Intra-squad Scrimmage on Sunday, September 24, 2023. Over 150 swimmers from all age groups competed in this team tradition and cheered each other on as they look to usher in another season of successful meets, best times and broken records. Regular team practices began on Monday, September 11th with the team welcoming back its returning swimmers and over 30 new swimmers to the pool. The team also hosted a Meet and Greet earlier in the month in an effort to connect new families with veteran swim families on the team and ran a food donation drive to benefit Bridges Outreach (who deliver lunches to the homeless). The team capped the month with a clothing drive fundraiser on September 30, 2023.
