FSPY Swimmers Attend Nationals

On March 31st to April 4th, the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA Swim Team sent 26 swimmers to represent the team at the 2025 YMCA Short Course National Championship. This meet was held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in North Carolina, where the team had an incredibly successful week. The team placed 11th overall and on the men’s side, with the women’s team placing 13th, out of 166 teams from across the nation.

The 2025 FSPY Short Course National Team consisted of:
Women’s - Normandie Beversluis, Elle Cadigan, Maddie Goret, Phoebe Kaplan, Jane Kavanagh, Laura Kim, Rachel Kou, Catherine Ritter, Mya Uku, Gina Yip, Janice Yip, and Chloe Yu.

Men’s - Brandon Calderone, Corey Calderone, Ian Dinesh, Kyle Dripchak, Terry Gould, Will Heinze, James Kavanagh, Dylan Lagrimas, Harrison McClure, Braden Michaels, Sean Stanik, Anton Vasilov, and Owen Waibel.

The following swimmers were able to secure spots to swim in finals, qualifying individually or on a relay.

• Braden Michaels: 200 Backstroke (16th)
• Catherine Ritter: 50 Freestyle (10th), 100 Freestyle (17th)
