Born in Odessa, Ukraine, Valentin worked as an artist, specializing in mosaics, stone, marble, and many other materials. From 1961 to 1979 he created hundreds of government sponsored mosaic murals all over Ukraine and Moldavia. Many of the pieces on display in the gallery depict scenes from Russian fairy tales.

The exhibit will be on display at the library until September 26. A reception will be held on Saturday, September 19 from 12 to 2 pm.
