Gallery: Raiders Gear Up for Football Training Camp
Scotch Plains-Fanwood High suqad kicks off spirited week of pre-season practice.
Days may drag for kids savoring the last few weeks of summer vacation, but for the Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School football squad, it was time to get back to work. As players took the field this week for for preseason training camp, coaches watched, guided, cajoled and yelled as the team worked on conditioning and skills drills to prepare for the coming season.
The team's first scrimmage is Saturday, Aug. 28 at Bishop AHR. Its opening game of the season takes place Sept. 11 against Westfield High School.

The high school's other fall sports teams – boys and girls soccer, boys and girls cross-country, girls tennis, girls volleyball and gymnastics – start practice Monday, Aug. 23.
