Genealogy: It's a Story!

Join the Scotch Plains Public Library staff on Thursday, September 24 at 7 pm for an exciting genealogy program!

Local author and genealogist Maureen Wlodarczyk will be at the Scotch Plains Public Library on Thursday, September 24 at 7pm to present Genealogy: It’s not a tree or a chart – it’s a story! This presentation is about how to take a family tree chart and layer on historical context (social, economic, religious, military and other aspects) of the times in which ancestors lived in order to enrich and give dimension to our family stories.

Wlodarczyk is a member of the Genealogical Society of New Jersey, Hudson County Historical and Genealogical Society, and the Irish-American Writers and Artists organization. She has written several non-fiction and historical fiction books about her Irish and New Jersey roots. These books will be available for purchase and to be signed.

This program is free and open to all interested participants. Advanced registration is recommended for this program. Additional information can be found online at www.scotlib.org, or by calling 908-322-5007 x204 or e-mailing library@scotlib.org. The Scotch Plains Public Library is located at 1927 Bartle Avenue, one block from Park Avenue in the center of town.
