Gunman Follows Fanwood Man Home From ATM, Robs Him: Police

Authorities are investigating the armed robbery of a Fanwood resident who was hit with the end of a handgun and robbed, Fanwood Police said.

FANWOOD, NJ — A Fanwood resident man was followed home from the bank and robbed and attacked by two men including one with a gun on Thursday night, Fanwood Police said.

Just before 9 p.m. the resident said he was followed home from a nearby Wells Fargo ATM by a white Jeep Cherokee when a man asked for directions on Second Street near Burns Way, police said.

A struggle began and the resident was hit with the end of a handgun by another man, police said.

The victim described one of the men as being a black man, 25 to 30 years old, 5-foot-9-inches to 5-foot-10-inches tall with facial hair.
