Healthy Smoothie Option For All To Open in Westfield

WESTFIELD, NJ — A new, healthy food option serving whole, raw and local ingredients is coming to Westfield.

Former Westfield local Michelene Lambros and her partner Patricia Caminos are opening a smoothie and juice bar called Ono Bowls at 107 Quimby Street.

Ono Bowls is set to open in mid to late October.

Lambros graduated from Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School in 2010 and went onto Montclair State University to study clinical nutrition. She eventually stareted working at a local hospital but wanted “to bring healthy ness to another level. And the best way to do that was to open a business and make healthy more exciting.”

Lambros teamed up with Caminos, who had her own juice truck which had a very high demand.

The two collaborated to open Ono Bowls.

“We offer different bowls, juices and smoothies that are organized by your condition such as inflammation, anti aging, athletes, antioxidants,” Lambors said. “It helps people understand why they are choosing each juice or smoothie.”

Lambros is very familiar with helping others with specific conditions as she too went through stomach issues.

“I wasn’t sure why I was having them and started taking things out of my diet,” Lambros said. “I took things out like dairy or gluten and felt better. I very rarely get stomach pain and have switched to raw ingredients like fruits and vegetables.”

“Ono Bowls encourages other people to do the same in a fun way,” Lambros said.

The menu is still not finalized but Lambros said there will be options for anyone who comes into the shop. Such as dairy-free, vegan and gluten-free.
