Bark in the Park fundraiser

Join us on Sunday, May 19, 2019 from 1:00 to 3:00 for the BARK IN THE PARK dog walk at Frazee Park, 1451 Raritan Road in Scotch Plains. This event will help raise funds for Friends of Valley Brook and their Help Vets Pets program.

All money raised will go directly toward caring for the pets, service and therapy animals living at Valley Brook Village on the grounds of the VA Hospital in Lyons, NJ. These animals provide their owners, once previously homeless veterans, with companionship, comfort and joy.

Participants are asked to bring dog and cat food, toys and accessories. Registration forms, which contain additional information about the event, are available at Duke’s Pet Den, located at 417 Park Avenue in Scotch Plains.

In addition to music, there will be veteran and pet themed vendors as well as a pet psychic. There will also be a special guest appearance by Toby, one of the dogs living at Valley Brook Village, who is the mascot and face of Help Vets Pets. Toby, a Bagel Hound, suffers from epilepsy and needs continual care and medication. Otherwise, he is a happy dog who loves attention and belly rubs.

So, if you have a friendly dog that likes other dogs and people, please sign up for this worthwhile event. Even if you don’t have a dog, come out and enjoy the fun!
