SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ — The state recently released information on how much schools are paying their teachers in the state. See where Scotch Plains-Fanwood Regional School District stacks up:
Scotch Plains-Fanwood Regional School District teachers are the 14th highest paid in Union County and 297th highest in the state, according to information released by the state for the 2019-20 school year.
The school district pays teachers a median salary of $66,356, which is 1.07 percent less than last year where teachers made $67,072 on average.

Scotch Plains-Fanwood teachers made less than the state median of $68,985, a 1.6 percent increase over last year. Overall, 232 school districts pay more than the state median.
The released information is part of the state Department of Education's Taxpayer's Guide to Education Spending that was just released, showing the median salary in every New Jersey school district and charter school.
