Homeowner Escapes From Scotch Plains Garage Fire
The fire started in the home's garage from an electrical panel, Scotch Plains Deputy Fire Chief said.

FANWOOD, NJ — A Princeton Avenue resident escaped from their home after a fire broke out in the garage on Thursday morning.
The resident called 911 at 8:46 a.m. reporting the fire in the single-family home's garage. When Scotch Plains firefighters arrived at 8:50 a.m. the resident was already outside, Deputy Chief Skip Paal said.
Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire and contain it to the garage, Paal said.

There were no reported injuries. The cause was determined as electrical coming from the panel in the garage, Paal said.
Scotch Plains Fire Departments two engines and one ladder truck responded to the scene aong with Fanwood Fire Department's Ladder 1.
