FANWOOD, NJ — A Princeton Avenue resident escaped from their home after a fire broke out in the garage on Thursday morning.The resident called 911 at 8:46 a.m. reporting the fire in the single-family home's garage. When Scotch Plains firefighters arrived at 8:50 a.m. the resident was already outside, Deputy Chief Skip Paal said.Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire and contain it to the garage, Paal said.There were no reported injuries.
