Jingle Bell 5k At The Mills At Jersey Gardens Returns After COVID Cancellation

The race returns after being canceled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The race will be held on Sunday.

ELIZABETH, NJ — The 10th annual Jingle Bell 5k is returning on Sunday, Dec. 5, to The Mills at Jersey Gardens after being canceled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Mills at Jersey Gardens, along with the Elizabeth Policeman’s Benevolent Association Local #4, will be hosting the race which will raise money for Children's Specialized Hospital.

This USATF-certified race will include 400 runners of all ages and will be held at The Mills at Jersey Gardens, 651 Kapkowski Rd., Elizabeth.

Since the race's inaugural year in 2011, more than $100,000 has been raised for Children's Specialized Hospital, with this year's money going toward the Rehabilitation Technology Program.

Following the race there will be an awards ceremony where first, second, and third place winners will be awarded gift cards in amounts of $250, $100, and $50, respectively, as well as a Best Team Costume award.

All participants will receive a gift bag with special Jingle Bell 5K gear, including a festive scarf.

Those interested in taking part can register for the run online here for $35, or in-person the day of for $40. Mayor Chris Bollwage will be in attendance for the race.

Registration on the day of the race will be held from 7 to 8 a.m. and the race starts at 8:30 a.m.
