Man Caught Burglarizing Car, Arrested In Scotch Plains: Police
A rash of car burglaries have been reported within the last week in the township, said police.
SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — A man who Scotch Plains police say was caught in the act of burglarizing a car was arrested on Saturday.
On Jan. 9 a resident reported a man trying to break into their car on the 300 block of Cedar Grove Terrace, said police.
The car owner gave Patrolman Kyle Savoia a description of the man which was broadcast to other officers.

Sgt. David Lavery and Patrolman Damian Serafin found a man fitting that description on Grant Avenue, said police.
Denzel Christian, 25, of Plainfield was positively identified, arrested, and charged with burglary and possession of marijuana, said police.

Christian also had items from a previous burglary in his possession. He was additionally charged with burglary and theft, said police.
Christian was transported to headquarters and processed.
A rash of car burglaries have been reported in the township over the past week. On Jan. 6, three cars were burglarized in the 300 block of Jackson Avenue during the overnight hours, said police.
Then again on Jan. 11, numerous motor vehicles were burglarized on Watchung Terrace, Mountain Avenue and Pine Terrace during the overnight hours, said police.
