Man Charged In Scotch Plains YMCA Car Burglaries

The arrest came as the result of a weeks long investigation into motor vehicle burglaries at the YMCA on Martine Avenue.

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Scotch Plains have arrested a man wanted in connection with motor vehicle burglaries at the YMCA.

Terique S. Smith, 29, of Irvington was arrested at his home on Dec. 5 by Scotch Plains Police Detectives Brad Belford and Dave Belford.

The arrest came as the result of a weeks long investigation into motor vehicle burglaries which were reported at the YMCA located at 1340 Martine Ave., Scotch Plains police reported.

Smith was transported to headquarters and charged with burglary, theft, fraud and credit card theft. He was processed and released on a summons.
