Man Who Broke Into Scotch Plains Home Wanted
Theft, drug possession, fraud and outstanding warrants were also reported in the township, according to the police blotter.

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — An alleged burglar is wanted for breaking into a Scotch Plains home last week, police report.
On April 10 at around 11 a.m., Scotch Plains Police responded to a home in the 1900 Block of West Broad Street.
The resident reported confronting a black man in her home that fled towards Christine Circle.

Additional units responded including Scotch Plains K-9 and members of the detective bureau. The home was searched and made safe for the resident and at this time the suspect remains at large, Scotch Plains Police report.
This incident is currently under active investigation.

On April 12: Unique E. Benjamin, 22, of Newark was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Gerard Rites. Benjamin also had an active warrant out of Union Twp. Transported to headquarters and processed.
On April 12: Andrew J. Jaques, 22, of Roselle was arrested on outstanding warrants out of Scotch Plains
and Union. Processed and released by Patrolman Chris Ostrowski.
On April 13: The management at the U-Haul located at 2015 Rt. 22 reported the theft of a trailer which was rented and never returned. The trailer, which is valued at $10,000, has been entered as stolen.
On April 15: A resident in the 2000 block of Algonquin Drive reported a fraud. Someone gained access to the victim’s credit card information as well as their cell phone account. Under investigation.
